Cr Duffy asked a question regarding Clergate Road – starting at the end of February when the Ophir Road section is done, is there going to be a passing lane on the Ophir Road intersection

A/Director Technical Services commented that it won’t be a formal passing lane but wide enough for two vehicles to pass heading north. Work has started on Clergate Road, a substantial gas main has had to be relocated and this work started this week.

MATTER ARISING                                                                                                  Cr J Whitton

That staff be congratulated on the works being done in Orange with new footpaths. Council has worked hard for a long time to get this work through, they are a big issue and good to see the work moving forward. A thank you to all staff involved.

The Chief Executive Officer made comment that tomorrow at lunchtime there is a roads and footpaths briefing for Councillors and as we head to budget deliberations the previous Council allocated a lot of money towards roads and footpaths and this will now start to taper off, we will discuss this at the briefing.

The Meeting Closed at 7.27pm.
